Are you struggling to get through the day without a midday coffee? Do you hit the 3pm hour & feel like you need a nap to power through? Are you sick & tired of feeling TIRED all of the time?
Most of us think that feeling exhausted just comes with the territory….it’s a normal part of being a mom or comes with getting older. That’s simply not true. There is a difference between being tired after a long, busy day & feeling chronic low energy.
First of all you need to understand WHY your energy may be low! We can’t just treat the symptoms, we need to understand the root of the problem!
- Not enough sleep/rest
- Stress levels are high
- Increased cortisol
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Poor diet
- Nutritional deficiency- vitamins and minerals that are missing from your food intake
- Medical condition
Endless amounts of coffee will not fix your low energy problem! The highest limit we should be intaking in a day is 400 mg. When we exceed that recommended amount, we can see an increase in blood pressure, higher heart rate and potential for a whole slew of other medical issues. This goes for energy drinks too! They are high in sugar, high in calories and contain mostly all artificial ingredients. Energy drinks can definitely give you that big spike of energy, but then you crash so hard and it becomes a vicious cycle in order to combat low energy.
So, how can we solve our low energy issues the healthy way?
- Be intentional about getting 7-8 hours of rest a night
- Drink enough water- electrolyte water is best. You can find water with electrolytes bottled at most grocery stores OR you can buy electrolyte drops/tabs to add into your water in a reusable bottle.
- Eat whole foods- if it comes from the ground or has a mom, it’s a whole food! Whole foods will help with inflammation in your body and the lower we can get the inflammation, the higher our energy can be. Eating the right types of foods is also key! Eat the right types of complex carbs, proteins and healthy fats.
- Increase your fiber
- Get active- move your body somehow every day (swim, yoga, hike, bike ride, weights, etc!)
In the Faster Way to Fat Loss we incorporate all of these strategies in our program! I will teach you the science behind intermittent fasting, carb cycling, rest and efficient but quick workouts! You will understand how each of these strategies is affecting your body and helping you to feel more sustainable energy all day long.
