Seven Habits to Lose Belly Fat in Perimenopause

If you’re a perimenopausal woman who seems to be packing on the lbs, especially in your midsection, despite your efforts to eat healthy & exercise…these 7 habits are absolutely going to change the game for you‼️

Commit to 3, commit to all….imperfectly but consistently.

It takes time to establish healthy habits, but if you’re stuck doing the same thing you’ve always done & seeing your waistline get bigger…it’s time to switch things up.

  1. Prioritize quality protein at each meal- at least 35 grams. I recommend .8-1 gram of protein per lb ideal body weight for women. Protein will increase your metabolism & allow you to build muscle.
  2. Increase your steps. 10K steps is fab. You simply CANNOT be sedentary. Take breaks throughout your day to walk, even if its just 10 minutes. Take a family walk after dinner. Park farther away, take the stairs, get a walking pad…just don’t sit all day long.
  3. Resistance train 2-3x a week. Cut back on the HIIT or bootcamps & lift heavier. Build muscle to burn fat more efficiently, balance your blood sugar, improve insulin resistance, & eliminate chronic disease.
  4. Get 7-8 hrs of sleep each night. Quality sleep controls our hormones, particularly our hunger & stress hormones, which both play a roll in increased belly fat.
  5. Increase fiber intake-Eat a min of 25 grams of fiber daily. Fiber, along with protein will help you stay full longer & have a positive impact on your blood sugar & insulin response.
  6. Eat less than 25 grams of added sugar. Start reading labels- looking for hidden sugars in your packaged foods. Fruits & vegetables will have 0 added sugars, but your protein bars & convenience items might be loaded.
  7. Limit alcohol to 1-2 days a week max. Let’s just be honest. Let’s just be real. Alcohol negatively impacts sleep & recovery which makes progress much more difficult.

Let’s see how many of these things we can make a habit in the next 30 days & watch our belly’s shrink in the process.

‼️

Which of these habits you plan on committing to over the next 30 days?
