Carb Cycling is a simple and effective strategy to help improve your body composition. Some even consider it the “perfect” diet plan. Burn fat and still eat your favorite healthy carbs. Now that’s a win, win!
But what does this even mean, Carb Cycling?
It might sound confusing, but it’s actually pretty simple. You vary the amount of carbohydrates you consume on some days. While the body’s calorie needs stay the same day-to-day, how you consume those calories changes.
- On low-carb days, your calories come primarily from protein and healthy fats.
- On other days calories come from unrefined, nutrient-dense carbs and proteins.
The benefits of carb cycling include:
- May provide better adherence. I mean, no one wants to never eat carbs again.
- May improved insulin sensitivity.
- It may help avoid frustrating plateaus.
- It may help regulate hormones needed for fat loss.
The FASTer Way uses Carb Cycling paired with strategic workouts to maximize fat burning, and it also keeps our female hormones happy. When you pair Carb Cycling with Intermittent Fasting (IF), you can accelerate your fat-burning results. If you want to know more about IF, you can read my blog post on the Dos and Don’ts of Intermittent Fasting.
If you’ve ever struggled to stick to a low carb diet for long, you know maybe you’ve found yourself jumping into all the carbs after coming face-to-face with the chip basket one night at a Mexican restaurant, well this might just be the “perfect” way of eating for you!
If you think Carb Cycling may be the “perfect” eating plan for you. I’d be thrilled for you to join my next FASTer Way New Group. You’ll learn how to eat the best way to fuel your very best life and so much more.
